Oh guys, what a wonderful time it was – everything festively decorated, beautiful Christmas carols and the scent of Christmas baking and punch in the air. Okay, I find mulled wine rather icky, but sweet punch – yes please! And then we had one Christmas party after another here in Serfaus. But of course the very best celebration was the one in our riding stables!
It was sooo much fun! First, the children from the vaulting group put on a performance. Wow, they can really do gymnastics on horseback. I’d love to do that too – I’d probably end up tying my four little stubby legs into a knot! But see for yourselves …
Wow, and then there was a riders’ quadrille with eight horses. What a jumble – or so I thought at first – but actually they rode some really great figures.
And the children also performed a beautiful nativity play. Nena became a camel, Charly a lion and Sunny a puma … only Emma was allowed to stay what she is … a donkey!
Then the children decorated a Christmas tree … from horseback! Nena and Sunny weren’t all that thrilled about it!
Oh, and then things really got exciting. There was a jumping competition with two- and four-legged participants … that was thrilling!!! The fastest ones won a lovely rosette. But most importantly, afterwards there were biscuits and punch for everyone! Okay, a few of the grown-ups had a mulled wine too … but there was punch as well, did I mention that … ???
