Oh dear … once again it’s that boring in-between season. All the hotels and restaurants on the entire sunny plateau of Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis are closed … nothing is happening!!! You can’t go skiing on our slopes yet either, the cable cars are shut.
But it won’t be long now. Curious as I am, I trot into the village again – and right now you can’t even take the underground in Serfaus, what a nuisance!
Up the drive to Hotel Darrehof I go – let’s see how far they’ve got with the winter preparations … but what’s this??? Instead of being busy tidying, cleaning and decorating, our bosses are standing nicely dressed in front of the house having their photo taken …!?!?!
“Hey Seldis, what are you doing there?” Seldis beams from ear to ear: “Oh Netti, we finally did it, we are now a member of BIO HOTELS!” – “What, BIO? We’ve been organic for ages … I’ve been munching good, healthy organic hay from the mountain meadows around Serfaus in our riding stables for as long as I can remember. And if I remember rightly, you already got some funny plaque last year. Why do you need another sign now?”
“Yes, we already had the organic certification before. But BIO HOTELS have much stricter requirements. We now use 100% organic food and drinks, our cleaning products must carry a strictly controlled eco-label, and we have committed ourselves to lots and lots of sustainability measures. Plus, we fully stand behind the values represented by BIO HOTELS: appreciation, responsibility, authenticity, individuality and innovation!”
I look at Seldis with big questioning eyes: “Aha … and what does that actually mean … ???”
Seldis glances slightly impatiently at her watch: “Netti, I really don’t have enough time right now to explain all of that to you. The easiest way is for you to read it on the BIO HOTELS website, it’s all explained there in detail! Here’s the link: https://www.biohotels.info/de/verein/”
And zip – she was gone … great, she totally forgot that I’m just a little plush horse with stubby legs … I can’t even read!!!
So dear friends, maybe one of you has a bit more time and can explain it to me??? After all, I’m now living in a BIO HOTEL – well, at least in the stables that belong to it!
