Netti changes tack

Hey guys, I went to visit my friends at the hotel again … and you won’t believe what I saw there: bikes, so, so many bikes in our bike room, right here in Serfaus!!! And what kind of bikes … mountain bikes, really cool ones. Some of them were even connected to a socket with a cable … I didn’t even dare touch them in case I got an electric shock … I know all about those nasty electric fences at our riding stables!
Just as I was admiring these things in awe, a lovely family came round the corner. Mum and daughter as usual in riding clothes, dad and son fully kitted out with huge helmets and protective gear “from head to toe” … !!!

Curious as I am, I of course had to ask straight away if they were heading out to fight some dangerous fire-breathing dragon… ?!?!? All they were missing to go with that modern knight’s armour was a shield and a lance … “Oh no, Netti … Felix and I are going to the bike park in Fiss today and things can get pretty wild there, so you really do need good protection,” the friendly dad explained to me.

“Yesterday things were a bit more relaxed and we rode two of the great new single trails, the Bifitrail and the Leithetrail, and to warm up properly we pedalled up the mountain ourselves. We didn’t have the full gear on then. But today … today it’s full-on action! Tomorrow we’ll take it easier again and do more ‘leisure cycling’. That’s what’s so great here in Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis. The mountain bike area is so varied that you can do something different every day. On our first day we also treated ourselves to a riding technique course at the bike school … really awesome, you always learn something new! Anyway, Netti, we have to head off now. You should really give biking a try too!”

Hmm, easy for him to say – I only have these short little stubby legs!!! But then I discovered something right at the very back of the bike room …
