Our riding and organic farm is a certified organic farm where you can experience farm life in Tyrol first-hand.
Our riding and organic farm is an organic agricultural enterprise where you and your children can get to know farm work in Tyrol throughout the seasons.
Our animals are partners and friends to us. On our organic farm, they are fed with our own hay according to strict organic standards.
As concentrated feed, we use grain mixes that also come from certified organic farming. Annual organic inspections are mandatory.
The modern and spacious stable building has 18 stalls for our horses, ponies and petting animals. A special comfort feature is our automatic manure removal system. This system keeps the stable aisle clean and, of course, makes work easier as well.
The mountain and meadow hay for our animals comes from our alpine meadows around and above Serfaus.
We manage 19 hectares of grassland.
- 10 hectares of meadows mown twice a year
- 5 hectares of mountain meadows mown once a year – most of this still requires a lot of manual work
- 4 hectares of pastureland – used mainly as grazing for our horses
Connected to the stable is a generously designed barn with two hay lofts, each with hay ventilation for the first cut (early summer hay) and the second cut (aftermath). A big help here is the hay crane operating at a height of 7 metres, used for filling and emptying the hay lofts.
The hay from our higher mountain meadows is still largely brought in by hand into the “Pilla” (a small hay barn directly on the meadow).
Manure is the farmer’s secret – we do without any kind of artificial fertiliser.
Because many of our mountain meadows are on extremely steep slopes, we need lightweight, soil-friendly, off-road-capable and manoeuvrable equipment. The very steep meadows are harvested by hand using a mower.
For haymaking we also have a Metrac and a Muli (both by Reform). The Metrac is versatile and can be used with a disc mower, hay tedder and rotary rake. As the “workhorse” for our arena leveller, it helps maintain a smooth and even indoor and outdoor riding arena surface.
For our Muli we have various interchangeable attachments (hay wagon, manure spreader, flatbed), making it a real all-rounder. A Lindner tractor makes our daily work around the stable easier.
