Biking through Tyrol
A cycling experience for the whole family is awaiting you in Serfaus: Whether a simple bike ride on the high plateau of Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis, or mountain biking for strength and condition training - here you will find everything. Our bike trails are marked and secured according to the new Tyrolean marking system.
If you find the climb a bit too much, take the cable cars up along with your bike, and enjoy a well-rested descent on your bike into the valley.
Our region has signpost tours in some of the best mountain biking areas in Tyrol.
In addition to the Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis Schönjoch Trophy - a hill climb of over 1000 m across 17.3 km - there are tours for beginners and families on the plateau. Gentle climbs and many resting opportunities in cosy inns and restaurants along with ski lifts at Fiss and Serfaus enable novices and families with children to get a real altitude experience.
For demanding and experienced bikers there are tours of 70 km or more to run wild on and to enjoy the magnificent mountain scenery of the Samnaun and the foothills of the Ötztal Alps.
Special bike maps (Publisher: Tyrolia, Gerhard Agerer) covering the entire area between Landeck and the Reschen Pass in great detail with a total of 35 different trips will help you orient yourself. There are also signpost routes, for example to Schönjoch or to Schöngampalm lodge. When you are near Schöngampalm lodge, you should definitely take the time to stop.
Top infrastructure for biking
A first-rate infrastructure for cyclists is available in Serfaus: The Scott Bike Testcenter, bike rentals or "Bike & Hike" (with the cable car up the Schönjoch, walking to Schöngampalm, and biking back to Fiss) are all on offer to bike-riders. Guided tours take place almost daily.
Pleasure riding during the summer holidays in Austria
Thanks to an entire fleet of over 90 electric bikes, the Tyrolean holiday region of Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis is again a pedal ahead of other destinations: Here the entire family can enjoy a bike-riding holiday without all the sweaty exertion.
This is possible because of the Swiss Flyer C and S series of bikes, specially designed for the alpine terrain, that are available for use between the months of June and October. The technology is solid, easy to use, environmentally friendly, and is enjoyed also by novice riders who would otherwise might not venture so far with their mountain bike and risk missing some of the most beautiful mountain experiences.
But it is never too late! With the widespread availability of e-bikes, unique to the Alps, no casual cyclists cannot be kept away from the stunning mountains. Many wonderful nature experiences are awaiting you in the Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis holiday region!
